Everything You Need Before Your First Appointment
Our periodontists and team members are grateful that you’re considering us for your periodontal needs. Before you schedule an appointment, though, we advise that you take the time to review and consider the following information. This will help you prepare for your upcoming appointment so that you aren’t caught by surprise at any point. Both of our offices are just a phone call away, so please reach out if there’s something on these pages that you don’t understand.
Your First Visit
Your first visit is likely to be a consultation where we examine your mouth, take any necessary X-rays, and explain your treatment options before setting up future appointments. Before we begin, you’ll need to complete any paperwork that you haven’t already finished; our front desk team will be there to help if necessary. Once your visit has begun, you can expect us to ask a series of questions regarding your symptoms, your overall health, and your goals for treatment. Remember that you can always ask questions and that treatment will only move forward once we’re sure that you fully understand the situation.
When we meet patients for the first time, our top priority is to gather information about their current oral and overall health. After all, there’s no such thing as a “one size fits all” periodontal treatment; we need to personalize your treatment plan based on your needs. As such, you’ll need to fill out a series of forms before your appointment. Our team can answer any questions you have if you’re unclear on the instructions.
Maybe you belong to one of the insurance plans that we are in-network plan, or maybe you have an out-of-network policy. In either case, you should call our office right away to confirm whether we take your plan. We can explain your coverage to you and how it can be used to reduce the cost of the procedures that you’re interested in. Our team will handle the paperwork end of things, so you can rest assured that the right forms will be filed to let you take full advantage of your benefits.
While we are not a preferred provider with your insurance, there is a 90% chance your checkup and cleaning will be covered! Request an appointment to have a friendly member of our team get back to you with more information.
